That’s exactly what Trip Cancellation Insurance is for. Travellers can claim reimbursement for their airline and accommodation fees—and even their spouse’s if they were insured and travelling with them.
If the traveller reschedules their flight home, they can claim reimbursement for change fees charged by the airline, accommodations, meals and telephone calls—if they need to stay longer for replacement travel documents. They can also claim $250 for the reimbursement cost to replace their passport.
